This jewelry photoshoot was a dream.

I think it is extremely important to support local artists and businesses. Kauai has an amazing community of creatives and I feel lucky to work with some of these fine artists.

I have been admiring Janice’s jewelry and just her overall rad-ness since we first met. This woman just oozes creativity. This collaboration was truly #goals and the experience was just as epic as the outcome. 

Her unique beaded bezel technique is exquisite. For the styling, I just love the way she layered her dainty strands with the chunky druzy stones, beautiful golds reflecting with natural pearls and shells. Janice has a true talent for her craft and a style that is both eye-catching and timeless.

During the planning stages of our shoot I was inspired by the raw crystals that Janice uses. For the photos, I wanted to create a vibe that is hippie, trippy, and a little bit witchy. With a little other-worldly flavor thrown in there. (Maybe that last part was inspired by the hours of Stranger Things that I have been binging.)

With all of those ideas swirling in the air we set out to create something beautiful.

Our gorgeous models Suzy and Jess made this shoot a breeze. They were effortless and engaging. We kept the music cranked and basically had an outdoor dance party. Did I mention that these ladies know how to have a good time?

Jess said during our shoot, “I can’t even. How is this our life!?” We were all feeling the blessing of this experience. We were tapped into the magic of our moment. 

Capturing the gems, the sage, the dirt, the trees, the salty wind, the raw forces of nature at play with these gorgeous women – the alchemy of this session is what I crave.
