Rachel and Corey’s Renewal Ceremony at Shipwrecks Beach 

It is never too late to have a perfect Kauai wedding. Rachel and Corey were married 10 years ago and invited me to capture their beautiful vow renewal at Shipwrecks beach. The couple renewed their vows in a circle of greenery and tropical flowers, by Rachels best friend Ariane. They were joined by friends and family members, along with all the kiddos.

Rachel and Corey read off their personalized vows while embracing their daughter and son. They finished off the ceremony with Rachel, Corey, and their two children poring different colors of sand into a glass jar, each having their own layer as a symbol of union between their family. This is a traditional sand ceremony that is done to represent two lives coming together, as the two containers are poured into the third, the individual containers no longer exist. Just as the grains of sand can never be separated and put into the two container, so will the marriage. I loved seeing them take this tradition and twist it for their renewal and involving their children.

The group celebrated on the beach while listening to the talented Kyle J LaBenz on the Ukulele. After the group shots, the couple snuck away for some beautiful evening-lit photos with jus the two of them. 

Thank you, Rachel and Corey, for a beautiful evening of capturing your spark that still lives on even after all of the years. I can tell it will continue to live on forever.
